About The Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery

The Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery is a companion animal practice. The practice was established in Clay Cross in 1979 and has been caring for the pets of Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Alfreton and surrounding areas ever since.

Due to increased customer demand for our services we opened another surgery in South Normanton. This has proved a very good choice as we now have a growing loyal customer base and our team enjoy seeing all the lovely South Normanton clients and their gorgeous animals.

Our whole team are highly trained and have the same aims about caring for you and your wonderful pets. We are passionate about our profession and you are the reason we work hard every day to ensure you receive the very best Veterinary care.

Our aim is to do what is right for you and your pet. We will try our very best to ensure that your poorly pet is looked after to the very best of our ability. If we think your pet requires a level of professional care we are unable to provide we will tell you and assist you with referral to a more specialised hospital.

It iscolloie dog lying in grass important that you are able to make the best informed decisions with regard to the care of your pet so we will always do our best to fully explain the treatment options and make sure you are happy with the plan.

We have a lovely practice, large waiting rooms, bright consulting rooms, modern theatres with multi parameter monitoring plus a dedicated preparation and dental procedure room. We have an ultrasound machine, digital xrays, blood pressure measurement equipment and an in-house laboratory which allows us to provide same day results for the majority of our blood tests. We have a sophisticated laser which enables us to offer more advanced healing therapies. We have dedicated dog and cat wards, an isolation area and a separate area for small furries so they can feel safe.

We are also very proud to be a training practice and our nurses study hard to achieve their RVN qualifications and develop into exceptional professionals. They are a dedicated team and often work unsociable hours along side the vets to provide round the clock critical care and to ensure our in-patients are treated with the utmost sympathy and love.

We are more than happy to answer your questions, so if you are worried or unsure about anything please do not be afraid to ask. Our fantastic team of receptionists are on hand to assist you with any queries you might have.
